Food, energy and economic crisis hit so hard in Cameroon. Climate change has come to add making the situation difficult. The good thing is that we have a solutions to these crises with new technologies that can be replicated or scaled-up to meet human demands in energy and food while sustaining our mother- earth. Biogas systems provide energy needs and its by-product called biogas slurry used as biofertilizer and biopesticides to increase crop production. Biogas systems are renewable energy systems and mitigates climate change. CAMGEW staff has done research on biogas in partnership with Strategic Humanitarian Services (SHUMAS) and the results show that poverty, energy and food crisis can be eradicated with the popularisation and utilisation of biogas systems by peasant farmers for energy, biofertilizer and biopesticide needs. The benefit to the environment from this system is also enormous.
